Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE)
Presentation
Spanish is one of the languages with the highest number of speakers in the world. The cultural, artistic, scientific, and commercial potential of the Hispanic world stimulates an increasing number of speakers of other languages to be interested in learning it. In this sense, native speakers, with professional and linguistic training, have a cultural base to insert themselves into Spanish as a Foreign Language (ELE) teaching programs. Consequently, this diploma focuses on the knowledge, application, and production of didactic strategies so that such a process of insertion is productive and responds to the formative needs of potential students from various linguistic and cultural contexts.
General objectives of the program
To enable professionals with linguistic training for the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language (ELE), by enhancing their skills for the analysis, selection, planning, and evaluation of didactic sequences and evaluative strategies that have as references theoretical frameworks, curricular projects, didactic proposals, and updated empirical research.

Methodology
The course has a modality that combines theoretical, curricular, and practical aspects linked to the teaching of ELE. To address them, different types of learning activities are proposed: interactive exhibitions, reflection based on a dossier of selected readings, formulation of didactic sequences, and production of learning material.
For each of the teaching levels, written and digital materials will be reviewed to configure sequences of contents, didactic principles, teaching strategies, and evaluation criteria in an inductive and collaborative way.
As the course progresses, participants must develop a portfolio that will contain their reflections, the material produced, and the design of didactic sequences to address content.
To finish the course, students must present a didactic proposal to address grammatical, lexical, and cultural topics assigned in due time.
